Objective:

To serve as a director on the board of 350Deschutes. To provide direction to the organization through planning, evaluation, and policy setting. We’re a small, but growing climate organization working on policy, education and actions to support the JUST transition to clean energy.

We need skills of all types and adults of all ages. Just a commitment to this work.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest and belief in climate change.  .
  • Specific skills and experience related to program development, administration, personnel, finance management, resource development, marketing,or community relations.

Commitments:

  • Willingness to offer counsel to organization or represent the organization in the community.
  • 2-year term of office. Start with volunteering on a committee.
  • Approximately 4-6 hours per month, more during events & planning.
  • Willingness to make a personal financial commitment commensurate with ability to contribute.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure corporate management direction for the organization.
  • Ensure fulfillment of legal obligations.
  • Ensure provision of quality programs that extend ABC Organization services to children, youth, and families throughout the target area.
  • Ensure that the organization’s human resources are effectively managed.
  • Ensure that the organization’s assets are prudently protected and managed.
  • Secure the funds necessary to carry out the organization’s programs.
  • Secure community involvement and support.
  • Be knowledgeable of the operations of the organization.
  • Be knowledgeable of people, trends, and events in the community.
  • Attend and participate in all board and assigned committee meetings.
  • Represent 350Deschutes in the community as the need arises.
  • Carry out assignments as delegated by the board president or committee chair.
